Welding jobs in Uganda

What a welder earns in Uganda, and who's hiring

Uganda is building steel structures, food-processing equipment and light fabrication. The companies doing that work are short of people who can weld to a standard an inspector will pass. Here's what the work pays and where to find it.

Why the standard you train to changes your pay

Anyone can lay a bead that looks fine. A weld that passes inspection is different, and it is the difference between day-rate work and a contract.

We train to American Welding Society standards and teach from Lincoln Electric's curriculum. When a foreman on a structural job asks where you trained, your answer decides whether you get the real work or keep carrying steel.

What employers will ask you

We train you for every one of these questions.

  • Can you read a drawing without someone explaining it?
  • Can you weld in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions without warping the work?
  • Do you turn up on time, every day?
  • Can you work clean and leave the site safe?
  • What have you built that you can show me?

How graduates find their first job

We don't place graduates in jobs. They win work themselves, with a certificate, AWS-standard skills and the habits employers notice first: turning up on time, working clean and finishing the job.

94%

of our 2025 graduates found employment.
